Good to see you are getting the garden going. Snow still here on the ground. Don’t think I’ll be able to put one in this year.

Merry Christmas everyone. Hope everyone is able to spend time with family and friends. Trying to spend time with sons in the service this year.So on the road the road. Hope to catch up with friends here when holidays are done.

I have watermelon radishes! I have beans drying in the garden for seed saving. The beets are doing awesome and will probably be ready to harvest in a week. They really took off. Carrots are dragging along.. will be another 2-3 weeks for them.

We have canned about three bushells so far.Was working on corn this week.Only had two days off to work on it.

Been a long week and half. Working to much and canning to little.We saved what corn we could this week. Wasn’t happy with the results.58 pints.Not much for the work I put into it. Only a third of it made ears that where any good.Can’t find any sweetcorn for sale anywhere that isnt crazy for the price. Gonna have to stock up on more beans I guess.

You can get sweetcorn here, but it’s very expensive! .77 per cob last I checked. I’m going to try stocking up on bags of frozen sweetcorn, if it hasn’t gone up to much in price. I can either can or dehydrate it for longer storage.

Rain,rain and more rain.Finally get some and its to late. Canning soups and chile this week.Helped my mother with peaches she bought.They where horriable.Out of two and half bushell we had about a half bushell we could use for jam.Pitts held like glue.and they where just to mushy to do anything with. The peaches coming out of Pennsylvania are good this year. Red Havens for sure. I hate that when you get mushy fruit. Did she get her money back?

Fair week for the kids.4-h time.Youngest took best of show for vegies from the garden.And a loaf of apple bread,he and the wife made.19 blue ribbons all together.He is a happy boy.

Sorry to hear about the garden. Will you replant things for fall? The wind took out a few of my pepper plants but other than that we were pretty lucky.

lol Yes I got one downloaded.Asked my son to run the rototiller up the the garage.And he cut through the cable to the the internet satalite.Guess it needs to be buried a little deeper lol.Will be fixed Thursday and I will download more.Maybe a little video if i can figure that one out.

Fathers day. Love it finally a day of rest.gardens in.moved the last of the strawberry plants yesterday.where getting choked out in the boxes.Still sore all over in places I forgot I could be.Helped one of the co-op with first cutting of hay last week.four hundred square bails and 60 round.Pretty good first cutting. Hope to see someone on chat tonight.

Garden garden garden.onions,yellow beans,and ploblano peppers today.potatoes tomorrow still fighting potato bugs.killed a ton off my egg plant today.

My potatoes are an inch high and there are beetles hiding underneath. There were even 3 piggy backing each other. Sickos!!
I am planting all next week. I have the greenhouse open but I guess I’ll still haul the tomatoes and peppers out of there to be in direct sunlight for a few days.

Sorry to hear about the potato bugs! I’m having trouble with them to, but on my ground cherry and cape goose berries! They are in the nightshade family and I guess they just love them to. I had them out in trays today and went to plant some this afternoon and they had been munching real good on them.
