this year was the first year growing some heirloom plants. I’ve harvested my spinach seeds for next year. I just have to remember to save beans and not can them all. LOL. I also have beets and lettuce growing. How do I collect those seeds?

Just finished my green bean harvest…only got 3 pints but we have a small garden. A friend has advised that when I pick the last of my beans I should still have time to plant again for a fall harvest.

I have most of the […] ViewDon’t forget that when canning veggies, unless you are pickling them, you will need a pressure canner and not a hot water bath canner.

I would plant now by putting a row of beans next to your current row. That is what I am going to do. Beans have an average harvest of 55-60 days. There are 66 days til October 1st which is the average 1st killing frost for your area. Mine is October 4th. So that should allow a bit of time to harvest.
