have any of you used a homemade solar cooker? I have been looking at different styles and wondered if anyone had a preference. I was going to try and make one of these a few years ago, but then found out I can’t use the boxes because of where I live ( they attract the brown recluse spider ) so I temporarily gave up on it. I was wondering if a plastic bin would work? What do you think?
Sand in the bottom of the large box would weigh it down, and help to hold in the heat…[Read more]-
Jo, I don’t know why you couldn’t use a plastic bin; but then again, I haven’t built and experimented with mine yet either, so I don’t know what to expect. I like your idea of the sand in the bottom!
