Whats on the menu tonight? We are having venison, mixed veggies, dinner rolls and either mashed potatoes or creamy noodles. Have’t made up my mind yet. lol

Since the weather will be cooler today it will be nicer to fire up the oven. Going to make a pot roast with potatoes, carrots and celery.
-
We are having salad with cut up steak on top and baked potatoes. We can’t usually buy enough steak to feed the entire crew very often, so this makes a special not too expensive dinner.
-
Oh yummy! Steak is really expensive here to. I haven’t bought it in a long time, but that is a great idea to make is stretch.

Today I made HM rolls and apple crisp. The crockpot is steaming on low with a chicken breast in it. The liquid will become stock for a number of things. I was hoping others would post what they are doing. It’s a good way to learn new things.

I went to town today to grab some groceries. I went to the Save A Lot store for a couple of items (carrots and celery) I noticed the older folks were stressing as they checked prices and put things back on the shelf. I felt bad for them (many did this). I could feel the anxiety in them. Thankfully – at this time- it’s not me or my family,…[Read more]

I would like to save the seeds from the apples I bought and try to grow a few trees of my own. Anyone have any suggestions on how to be successful?

I, too, worry for those people and all of us. It makes me feel pressure to can, dehydrate, and to learn all of the recipes my grandparents knew well. They are very hard to find….surprisingly. I do make my own castile soap and from there my own laundry detergent and cleaning products. Not really sure why people are so quick to believe the…[Read more]

As good as it is to know these things can store that long….. I hope it never gets to a point that I have to eat 40 year old apples or 28 year old oats!

This is so cool!!! I love it. Are these just standard clear bulbs or the heavier halogen bulbs? How did you add your hanger?
This is not the exact place I found it but it gives a how to.
