Potato hiller

Our first crop to get in the gardens is garlic.   We planted this last year but couldn’t harvest it.  We had so much rain in the fall the bulbs were mushy.
Left them to over winter and they came up nicely this spring.   So we needed to transplant them.

Potatoes are an easy crop to grow.
Till the area well, do not add fresh manure this can cause scabbing on the skins.
Cut potatoes into small pieces with 2 or 3 eyes per potato.
Plant 6 to 8 inches apart 4 inches deep.
Cover with soil.
When the plants are 6 inches tall hill the dirt up around them.
