Hi! I would like to comment on this so-called “recovery”. I live in Iowa and (thank the Lord) my husband is still employed. I have family in Wisconsin and Colorado who have told me pretty much the same stories. One of my cousins applied with a large food manufacturing company in the Denver area. It was a part-time office job and there were over 300 applicants. Also, a suburb of a large city in Wisconsin posted a job for a part-time teacher’s aide and rec’d almost 500 applicants. This shows me that people are still looking for work and not finding any. Where are the stats for the “long-term” unemployed (the unemployment rate just counts people who are unemployed for 6 mos or less I believe)? Thanks for listening and I love you and your wife’s videos. Keep them up!
We live in Vancouver and I do see some recovery…as far as real estate, it’s absolutely ridiculous…we are trying to buy a small acreage and we cannot find anything under one million…it makes me sick.
We also see food prices going up…a 10kg of sugar was over $14.00. And flour not much better. I did see it at the superstore for around $6.00 so purchased four bags. Bread is crazy! So I refuse to buy any….I bake all my own.
I have noticed though that Wal-Mart is selling their butter for $2.97 so I bought 16 pounds…and their milk was $3.79…usually it’s over $4.00
We are seeing “help wanted: signs…but they are for jobs like Tim Hortons and fast food places…and I will say that us ‘Canadians” don’t want those low paying jobs…so other people like the Indo Canadian people will take those jobs…and then we wonder why people complain…everyone wants the high paying jobs. Can’t really blame them…but when you have bills to pay, any job is a good job until something else comes along. Just my view.
@ Connie:
Yes I know what you mean. We’ve been trying for a long time to get a larger acreage as well. Land values are over inflated here as well. Although not as bad as out B.C. way.
NOT in MS I have a Friend that is 20 acers with a pond, 2 mobile homes a buried bus for storm shelter a horse barn or for any thing you want its a very nice place and they are saying she could only list it for $75,000 it is well worth more than that

@ Jennifer:
So glad your hubby has work! Yes the real unemployment numbers seem to be much different from the reported stats.
