Kim, I didn’t realize you homeschooled your kids. Was it hard to get permission to homeschool in Canada? It was easy here in VA but my granddaughter that I am raising and homeschooling has to take and pass the California achievements
tests for 5th graders in the next couple of months. I don’t believe she is ready and I think I am the one who is nervous. Not her! I am hoping to homeschool her again next year but if she fails her tests then they might force me to put her back in school. I don’t think she would do well back in the schools here. They are very bad. The students are bully’s and just down right cruel. She is super petite and
was always the smallest child in her grade and got picked on for it. She wears a size6/7 girls. And she is 12 years old.
She is not out of proportion but the kids call her squirt, peewee, and other meaner names so I think she does better at home where we can have her socialization at Church and with children who are not mean. She didn’t do well in school when
she was being teased alot so what is the use of her sitting there not learning because of cruelty and then being embarassed at failing tests. She does fine when she is happy.
I just got a practice test packet in the mail and she and I will be working on them this coming week. Maybe that will show me where we need to work before the real thing comes.
I really love your videos and you are a very talented woman and your husband is great at demonstrating and talking about his interests as well. I admire you both. Keep up the great
work. What ever happened with the summer kitchen? I would love to see it finished. I can’t find a video of it completed. Have you all been too busy to finish it? Thanks for all your sharing. Shirleyk

Hi! No the summer kitchen isn’t finished yet. We it still needs the mudding, sanding and painting. Then we can put in a sink etc. We had to put it on hold for a bit.
Homeschooling is legal in all of Canada, but like the USA each province has it’s own rules. Where we are it’s not hard to do, I don’t think it’s hard in any of the provinces actually. Something I’m very thankful for!
I’m sure your grand daughter will do just fine!
Loved it. Colorado Virtual Academy, k12.com sucks.
Wonderful! Needed that this morning. Kids are dragging and I need to know and remember why I do this!
