The weather this past week has been just wonderful! So I’m following cues from the weather and starting to plant out early. The long range forecast for the next few weeks looks nice. They are saying a few cooler nights, so I can just cover up my plants if need be. These photos were taken a few days ago before I started to plant outside.
Our Heinz tomatoes were growing really well! They always do well for me, they are my staple tomato here. They really needed to be repotted. But the nice weather saved me from having to do that. They went into the garden yesterday and most had flower buds on them already, one had an open flower!
Our sweet peppers are off to a good start this year. I hope that we get good yields off of these.
I’ve started our summer and winter squash in the greenhouse a few weeks ago. I did this last year and they did really well for me. So far I’m having mixed results. The germination rate continues to be low.
Some lupin and Delphinium flowers for my garden boarders.
This is out of our raised beds. I turned it over a few weeks ago and transplanted my onions, broccoli, purple cauliflower and cabbage into it.
We have been harvesting from our little asparagus patch for the past week. Weeds have always been an issue with this bed. This year I’m trying something new. The old time method of salting asparagus patches. I just applied salt the other day and I’ll let you all know how it works.
Whats growing in your gardens?

Wow all of your stuff is looking really good. Some of my tomato plants were tall, but now they are short again because I repotted them deeper. My peppers too. My broccoli and cabbage didn’t like getting hardened off and lost quite a bit of them. Some of them are hanging on, but I am just going to replant by direct sowing into the garden. I am excited now because I tilled the potato garden yesterday and the landlord came out today and got the main garden tilled. Yeah… I am good to go!!!!

It feels great to get working in the garden again, doesn’t it?! I’m sorry you lost some of your broccoli and cabbage though. At least there is time to start more! I need to start my second crop as well.
Yes, it feels very good to get outside. I started going to a weight loss bible study and have lost 1 1/2 pounds in the last two weeks just from doing stuff outside. Plus I have had more energy with all the sunshine

WOW everything looks to be coming up great. We have not yet moved out of the green house, but we did however plant in the raised beds today. We got our onions, carrots, and peas in. Tomorrow if the rain holds off I will plant the beets. We still have a lot of frost nights so it will be awhile yet for all the green house goodies to get into the ground.
Have a great day.
Thanks! I hope your weather holds so you can get your work done to. Ours is to cool off for the next two days. I’ll have to keep the frost covers on. But thankfully it’s to warm up quickly again.
