Our Canadian winters are long and cold. A favorite treat during that time is our homemade hot chocolet. Nothing taste better after coming in from shoveling the driveway sledding with the kids.
I’ve found this a much taster and cheaper alternative then buying little cans at the store. This also makes a wonderful gift! Fill a quart canning jar with the mix. Add some pretty ribbon around the top and you have a quick and easy gift.
This is a video showing step by step how we make our pizza. Making your own pizza saves a lot of money and is so much taster then delivery or frozen!
We look forward to family pizza night each week. Pizza is aneasy mealto make so get the whole family involved! Even small children can help by adding their favorite toppings. Homemade pizza is an affordable and nutritious supper. If we order take out pizza for our family it cost us 50.00. However if we make our own it cost us a small fraction of that, only 10.00. The quality is also much better and the ingredients fresher. So when times get tight don’t cut out pizza night, instead make it a fun family night and make your own!
Place warm water in the food processor bowl. Add yeast, sugar, salt and oil. Start blending and add flour 1 cup at a time.
Continue adding flour until it forms a ball that comes away from the sides of the bowl. The dough should be soft and tacky, but not enough to stick to your hands. If the dough is sticking to your hands, add a heaping tablespoon of flour one at a time until the dough is the right consistency.
Form into a ball and place in an oiled bowl.
Cover and set in a warm place until doubled.
Place dough on an oiled pizza pan and roll or press out to size.
Top with approximately 1 1/2 cup of sauce, 1 ½ cups shredded cheese. Then add other desired toppings to taste.
Cook at 425 F for about 15 minutes until the cheese has melted and the bottom of the crust has browned.
