Hello everyone! I just wanted to share that I might not be online much for a few days. My laptop is in the shop for a fan/heat sync repair. Our kids computer stopped working. We had a lightning storm and one of the bolts hit nearby. I think that it damaged their computer. I’m hoping that just a new hard drive will fix the problem. I can get it to boot with a cd, although it takes a while. But I can’t get Linux to install on to the drive.
So we are all swiping poor hubby’s computer when we can. lol
The upside is from Thursday to Saturday night we had 4 inches of rain!! It is too late to save most of the garden, but I’m still happy none the less. I went out last night to look at the squash. There are lots of little lemon squash to pick. But I was greeted by thousands of baby squash bugs. Arg! After a treatment of dish soap, veg oil and water there are much less out there now!
The zucckinio is finally starting to branch out and flower. Despite being planted in the dryest garden, it managed to hold its own until the rains hit. Hopefully we will still get a crop off of this one. It has never been bothered by squash bugs this year. So next year I think it will have a good place in our garden. The lemon squash seems to have a good bug resistance as well. The tondo squash was our first producer, but the bugs hit it very hard.
I’m hoping to start clearing out the raised beds this afternoon. I would like to get some fall greens planted. I’m hoping that we will have more luck with our fall garden.
